Uneven land

Your land may not be currently suitable for a garden space. You can do something about that. Examine your property. Think about ways that you might make level areas. One way is to use landscape timbers. They come in a variety of sizes and widths. They are not perfectly square. The sides will be rounded. They are relatively inexpensive.

Are you making a small garden area? There are kits available for your garden spot. You can also use kits that are made for sandboxes. They will cost you more than landscape timbers. You will save a lot of money by using the timbers and cutting them with your Mcculloch chainsaw. The timbers are pressure treated. They will resist insects and rot. You can often find them in lumberyards and home improvement stores.

You may have to do some digging to make you garden area level. This will depend largely on the shape and slope of your yard. You can stack landscape timbers for your area. Make sure that you stagger them. This will add strength to them. Wooden stakes will also work for supports. You can drive them into the ground with a hammer.

Pressure treated lumber is another choice for gardens and landscaping. It is different from the landscape timbers. All of the edges are square. This will make them stack easier. They will give you a more neater and uniform look. They are considerably more expensive than landscape timbers, also.

Railroad ties are also good for landscaping and gardens. They will work well for larger landscaping projects. You may need tools like sledge hammers and Husqvarna chainsaws. They can be cut to most sizes that you need. Many people like the appearance of railroad ties. You can have a rustic look to your outdoor area. Railroad ties can be fairly expensive. You may buy new and used. The new will cost more. However, they will be in better condition. This also means that they will last longer.
